Inner Fire Works is growing!  We are now more than just a Shiatsu practice (offering Energy Work and now aromatherapy...) We have created an attractive area in the building behind our house and have invited several trusted people to give their own courses and treatments there.  The possibilities at this time are:

Yoga lessons given by Agna Verlaenen, on Tuesday evenings (from 7:30 to 9 pm) and Thursday afternoons (from 2 to 3:30 pm.)  You can follow one trial lesson for 5 Euro, and thereafter you would pay a pro-rated amount for the remainder of the lesson series (which is 70 Euro for 10 lessons.)  You can find more information (in Dutch) on the UitAgenda website. 

Emotionele Lichaamswerk (Emotional Bodywork) given by Ilse van Putte, on Thursday evenings (from 8 to 10 pm) and Friday mornings (times to be determined), beginning from 19 April.  Before that date, there are 4 trial evenings, on 5/1, 2/2, 8/3 and 5/4.  Ilse also offers private session in our practice room (45 Euro for 1-1/2 hours.)

Phyllis Krystal Methode given by Martina van Hooreweghe.  Martina offers private sessions (in Dutch or English) in our practice room (In 2012 she is charging 60 Euro for 1 hour.)  She is also planning to do group sessions in the larger classroom area (for 15 Euro per session.)  You can email her at Martina@hiCwork.be for more information.

Shiatsu Basis Opleiding given by Jan Vervecken from the International School of Shiatsu in Westmalle.  This is a recognized training with 36 lesson-hours, consisting of 10 Wednesday evenings (7:30 to 10:30 pm) and one lesson on a Saturday.  The starting date is yet to be determined, but it will be sometime in the spring of 2012.  The total cost is 239 Euro. (Note: Paulus and I studied with Jan and highly recommend this course.  I was able to follow it even though I didn't speak any Dutch at the time, with the some translation help during the classes.  There are many practical lessons in addition to theory, perfect for both future Shiatsu therapists and regular people who want to treat family and friends.)

We welcome contact from other therapists (or trainers or teachers, etc.) who might be interested in using our rooms.  The larger classroom is 40 m2 and the treatment room is 16 m2, and there is an adjoining toilet and kitchen.  Naturally you can also make use of our lovely and peaceful garden!

Shiatsu Practice

In 2005, my husband, Paulus Dominicus, and I started a Shiatsu practice in Utrecht.  Paulus and I both give classical Shiatsu treatments, on a futon on the ground.  We also offer adapted treatments on a massage chair.  Shiatsu is a results-oriented therapy that is especially helpful against pain and complaints related to poor circulation.  Many people also use Shiatsu to reduce the effects of stress and to maintain good health.

Paulus is very busy these days with his handyman work and has little time to give treatments.  But when he has time in his agenda, he still enjoys it.  He is also currently following a course in Shiatsu for horses and is looking forward to treating many horses in the future.

Energy Healing and Self Discovery

I also offer energy healing treatments, separately or in combination with Shiatsu.  These treatments offer the possibility to work with old blockages on the physical, emotional and spiritual level.  In these situations, I work very much intuitively, and receive "information" from Guides, angels, your Higher Self, your previous incarnations, etc.  Using techniques from (among others) Reiki, Cranio Sacral Therapy, Resonance Repatterning, and Family Constellation work, I try to loosen the blockages. Bach remedies, etheric oils, crystals, and light massage (for example on the feet and hands) are often involved during these treatments.

Sometimes during these treatments it feels necessary to tell a whole story from the family history or from a previous incarnation, or to give a long explanation about the motivation or the life lessons from your soul.  This isn't always easy to do in Dutch, so it is handy if you can also understand some English.

Aromatherapie en Massage

I am also following a course at the moment, in aromatherapy, and I think it is fantastic.  For patients who dare to completely or partially undress, I now use massage oils during my treatments, containing etheric oils chosen especially for the patient.  You have the possibility to buy a small bottle of your own personalized massage oil at the end of your treatment.  You can also order a massage oil for yourself or someone else. 

I particularly enjoy giving these treatments -- I work on various meridians where that feels necessary, work on the body and in the aura, receive instructions from my Guides and from the "spirits" of the plants in the oils... it's always interesting.  In 2012, I plan to attend various trade shows and offer "guided aromatherapy chair massages)... (and just to be clear:  I do *not* offer erotic massage...)

Concerning Money

I know what it is to be short on money.  You want to do something for yourself, for your health or to help you relax... but the dog needs to go to the vet, the kids need new shoes... and besides, what would you do for yourself anyway?  There are so many choices.  If you visit a therapist and you aren't enthusiastic about your treatment, or if you only have enough money for one treatment, are you going to disappoint the therapist by not making a second appointment?  I've asked these questions myself many times (in the past, before I married Paulus!)

If you are doubting whether to make an appointment with me, I would just like to say this:  I see it as a great honor, to be able to give these treatments, and I get so much pleasure from doing them.  I don't do it for the money.  So call me, or mail me, explain your situation, and we'll work something out.  For example, I could offer a free treatment in exchange for you filling out a formulier for me with your experiences and results.  Or we could trade a treatment for vegetables from your garden or for ironing services (I always have a full wash basket needing ironing at home!)  I won't take it personally if you can't make a second appointment.  Naturally, I do have to earn some money to pay my bills, but there is enough space in my agenda to do "treatments from the heart" as well as my regular appointments.  So don't hesitate, we can certainly find a solution.  Give your body and spirit a treat!

Bed and Breakfast

Our Bed & Breakfast is unfortunately now closed, because we don't have a proper guest room at our new house. An overnight stay in combination with treatments is still a possibility (follow the link to learn more.)

Handyman Service

Fortunately, our "klussenbedrijf" or handyman service is getting more and more work. We will be able to continue accepting new assignments in the Netherlands even while we build up a client base in Belgium.

We are still frequently in Utrecht because of the handyman work, and can certainly arrange to give treatments if we are able to come to your place.
